Apartment 1A is right at the front door and all on the ground floor. It enjoys a straight- out- to sea view….with binoculars provided to add to enjoyment. The sitting room is very large with a leather suite of two chairs plus a two seater sofa, all reclining, and a circular dining table in the bay window. The cream and brown theme makes relaxation easy. The cream kitchen along one wall blends in so as to be barely noticeable. This room has high ceilings adorned with beautiful plasterwork – original features of this Victorian house.

Apartment 1A is suitable for all ages but is hugely popular with slightly older visitors who enjoy its particular benefits. The apartment has a 40 inch smart TV, full HD with freeview and Amazon Fire stick for catch up TV (BBC iplayer, ITV hub, channel 4 and 5), DVD player, video recorder, CD and cassette player, radio and clock radio/alarm.

The new kitchen blends into the lounge with the soft magnolia gloss colour and no-handle doors. It has integrated fridge and dishwasher. To give more worktop space, there is a compact sink and corner microwave. The tall cupboards give more space for storage of food. The under cupboard lights set off the granite patterned worktop.

The bedroom is off the sitting room and has twin beds, and fitted dressing table and wardrobe. Again the beautiful plasterwork adorns the ceiling. A carpeted ramp leads to a door to the back yard, and on the other side of this a concrete ramp slopes into the back yard. For visitors with mobility problems this facility is frequently utilised and we allow these visitors a key to the back gate for easy access to their car or simply ease of leaving the building in a step-free manner. (The doors are marginally smaller than specific stated accessibility requirements, but many guests enjoy this apartment and negotiate the doors with ease). The new carpeting is of a flat loop style to ease movement of a wheelchair.

The bathroom is fully tiled and has electric shower over the bath.

Booking Form

  • Please note: Beds are made up as two singles as standard. These can be converted to one super king size double bed with our special zipped together mattresses. Please tell us here whether you would prefer the super king size. This requires two weeks notice before arrival. This does not apply to apartment 3 which has a double bed as standard.

Booking

Normal bookings are Saturday to Saturday. Check-in time preferably by 2p.m., check-out time by 10 a.m.

To make a reservation request please contact us then this will be recorded in our register. Please then immediately send a deposit (non-refundable) for £100 for each week reserved.

For the Great North Run week (Sept 8, 2018) the balance is due 12 weeks prior to arrival.

The reservation becomes a firm booking on receipt of your deposit and an official receipt is sent to you normally by email. The balance is due at latest 4 weeks prior to your arrival. Payment is by bank transfer or UK cheque.
